The PGY2 cardiology residency program at Baptist Hospital is a 52-week pharmacy specialty-training program accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP). It is designed to establish a foundation of cardiovascular knowledge and to develop the skills and practice trends necessary to deliver highly specialized pharmaceutical care. The goal of the program is to develop independent pharmacy practitioners to become integral members of the multidisciplinary cardiology team. This specialty residency program builds upon the general competencies achieved during a PGY1 residency, expanding the ability of residents to provide care for complex cardiovascular patients in a variety of settings.
