The PGY2 EM pharmacy residency is a 12-month, organized, directed, postgraduate training program focusing on the development of the skills and competencies necessary to provide optimal pharmaceutical care to emergency medicine patients. Under the guidance of specialty trained preceptors, the resident will develop advanced clinical skills and professional confidence. The LRH Emergency Department (ED) has 165 total beds including 16 critical resuscitation beds. The Pediatric ED houses 33 beds including three critical resuscitation beds. The South Florida Freestanding Emergency Department has 15 beds including 2 critical resuscitation beds. The LRH ED is the second busiest single site ED in the nation with over 204,000 patient visits annually.
