Job Description Job Summary and Essential Function The Certified medical Assistant (CMA) in the ambulatory practice functions as an integral member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team in providing direct patient care. The CMA functions under the direct supervision of the physician/APN/RN/LPN when performing clinical tasks. The CMA rooms patients, administers medications and immunizations, obtains vital signs, maintains and stocks rooms with an inventory of appropriate supplies. Ensures safe and efficient patient flow, tracks high-risk referrals and lab tests, assists with facilitating safe transitions
