Join the UPMC Magee PGY1 Residency program and embark on an enriching journey towards becoming a well-rounded clinical pharmacist. You will work alongside experienced preceptors in a dynamic and supportive environment that fosters learning and growth. Our program offers a diverse range of rotations and experiences, including but not limited to internal medicine, infectious diseases, critical care, and more. Through these experiences, residents will gain proficiency in drug therapy management, interprofessional collaboration, and evidence-based practice.
Residents will also have the opportunity to engage in various research projects and educational activities, allowing for the development of critical thinking skills and the ability to contribute to the advancement of pharmacy practice. Additionally, residents will participate in medication safety initiatives, formulary management, and provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care to patients in various settings.
The UPMC Magee PGY1 Residency is designed to prepare residents for a successful career in clinical pharmacy practice or further specialized training in a PGY2 program. By the end of the program, residents will have acquired the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to excel in a demanding healthcare environment and positively impact patient outcomes.
