Overview:
The primary responsibility of the Adjunct Faculty member is teaching. We are seeking adjunct instructors for the following Biocon- Keck Graduate Institute (KGI) Program course:
BSCI 5310 - Pharmaceutical Development
The Biocon-KGI Certificate Program in Biosciences is offered in partnership with an Indian Biopharmaceutical company which has global presence in the areas of diabetes, cancer and autoimmune diseases. This program helps train recent college graduates in various areas of Drug Development, thereby making them ready to step into industry jobs.
Course Description
The course is designed to provide an understanding of how pharmaceutical companies discover, develop, and bring drugs and biopharmaceuticals to market. This course will focus on development of traditional and biological drugs. It will cover the process of drug development, taking the drug substance through the process of becoming a drug product, and then into clinical development and commercialization. Case studies from industry will be presented detailing companies and products that utilize state-of-the-art discovery techniques and advanced drug delivery systems. This is a science course that freely intersperses business and regulatory issues into the lectures and assignments.
The successful candidate must share in the mission of KGI and the Riggs School of Applied Life Sciences Programs. The Adjunct Faculty member reports directly to the Associate Dean of Faculty and works collaboratively with the Program Directors and other faculty.
Located in beautiful Claremont, California, Keck Graduate Institute is a member of the prestigious Claremont Colleges, a consortium of five undergraduate liberal arts colleges, two graduate institutions, and The Claremont Colleges Services, which provide shared institutional support services. Education and Experience:
Minimum of a Master's degree in a related field. A doctoral degree is strongly preferred. A minimum of 2 years of teaching experience. Prior experience in teaching for active learning preferred. Experience with the Canvas learning management system is a plus.

Special Requirements
