St. Joseph’s Hospital is a private, not-for-profit, community hospital comprised of St. Joseph’s Hospital, St. Joseph’s Women’s Hospital, and St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital. St. Joseph’s is a member of BayCare Health System, which provides both acute care and outpatient services to the greater Tampa Bay region. The Department of Pharmacy is responsible for pharmaceutical care services for approximately 900 acute care beds with an average daily census of more than 80%.
PGY2 Pediatric Pharmacy Residency
A 12-month program that provides specialized training in pediatric pharmacy. The pediatric pharmacy resident is based at St. Joseph's Children's and Women's Hospital. A 219-bed hospital, St. Joseph's Children's Hospital is a full-service medical center, including the 24-hour Steinbrenner Emergency/Trauma Center for Children, a 76-bed level IV NICU, Patel Children's Heart Institute, Bayless Cancer Insitute.
Required residency experiences: Orientation, General Pediatrics, PICU, PCICU, NICU, Pediatric Practice Management, Pediatric Hematology-Oncology
Elective residency experiences: Nutrition Support, Obstetrical and Gynecological Care, Pediatric Complex Care Clinic, Pediatric Emergency Medicine, Pediatric Infectious Disease, Pediatric Medication Safety, Pediatric Neurology, Pediatric Psychiatry, Pediatric Therapeutic Policy, Precepting/Teaching.
