In the past, Medical Affairs – Global Scientific Publications fellow have had the opportunity to:
Collaborate with internal and external authors to write scientific publications (abstracts, posters, podium presentations, and manuscripts) supportive of business and scientific objectives
Utilize best practices in medical writing to ensure clarity, accuracy, and adherence to guidelines, thereby enhancing the quality and credibility of all scientific communications
Interface with in-function partners, cross-functional teams, and external thought leaders to ensure alignment on data analysis, data interpretation, and scientific communication strategy
Lead research initiatives to assess the efficacy and impact of scientific communications on the medical field, while continuously identifying opportunities for innovation to enhance the reach and effectiveness of AbbVie's scientific publications
Work in collaboration with Global Medical Information, Medical Program Management, and Evidence Solutions fellows to expand knowledge across other sub-functions
Gain a comprehensive understanding of the global medical landscape by engaging with diverse teams, thus enriching the quality and relevance of scientific publications
Establish and nurture relationships with key stakeholders including Medical Directors, Medical Science Liaisons, Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), and others like Health Economics and Outcomes Research, Marketing, and Principal Investigators.

Fellows are given the opportunity to take graduate courses in the Regulatory Science program, teach in a classroom setting or in small group discussions relevant to their practice at the USC Mann School, and share in the strong network of USC alumni.
