The University of New Mexico Hospital (UNMH) is excited to announce openings for PGY2 pharmacy residency positions in Critical Care, Informatics, Emergency Medicine, and Thrombosis and Hemostasis. As the only academic medical center and Level I trauma center in New Mexico, our residency programs provide a distinctive platform to enhance your clinical expertise in one of the most diverse healthcare environments in the country. With 556 beds, including over 90 ICU beds, and approximately 90,000 emergency department visits each year, residents gain substantial hands-on experience in patient care, research, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Our postgraduate pharmacy residency training is designed to cultivate future leaders in pharmaceutical care, fostering skills in knowledge, confidence, and leadership while deepening your understanding of healthcare systems. The collaboration between the UNM College of Pharmacy and the UNM Hospitals Department of Pharmacy enriches the residency experience, allowing residents to thrive within a multidisciplinary team.

University of New Mexico Hospital (UNMH) is one of a very few institutions that is an academic medical center, Level I trauma center and the county hospital. UNMH is also the regional referral center for many specialties. This allows for a training site with a large diversity of clinical experiences while caring for underserved populations.
UNMH Is a 619-bed acute tertiary care facility provides state-of-the-art patient care. UNMH is a comprehensive stroke and neuro trauma service, a pediatric trauma and neurosurgery program, and adult and pediatric comprehensive psychiatry services.
