The PGY1 / PGY2 Health-System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership with Masters residency program with CPS Solutions, LLC. is a combination program consisting of a Master’s degree and residency in Health-System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership created to focus on developing leadership and management skills through practical health-system pharmacy experiences. CPS hopes to create an environment of professional growth and create a foundation of development of leadership skills that will prepare the resident to assume leadership in a hospital or health-system. CPS has collaborated with The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy, Masters in Health-System Pharmacy Administration to offer such a program.
Residents successfully completing the CPS PGY1/PGY2 Health-System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership Residency Program will be able to:
Demonstrate effective leadership and practice management skills in the area of health-system pharmacy administration.
Understand safe and effective medication-use systems, basic human resource management issues, management of financial resources, and the use of technology commonly encountered in health-system pharmacy.
Be aware of professional, legal, quality, and accreditation standards affecting health-system pharmacy practice.
Optimize patient outcomes through the provision of evidence-based, patient-centered therapy and fostering effective decision support as an integral part of interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
Provide medication and practice-related information, education, and/or training.
These objectives will be achieved through the successful completion of the ASHP required competency areas, goals, and objectives for the postgraduate year one (PGY1) pharmacy residency and postgraduate year two (PGY2) Health-System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership Residency.
In addition to the program objectives from CPS, a graduate of The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy, Masters in Health-Systems Pharmacy Administration program will be able to:
Conceptualize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate pharmaceutical care in organized healthcare settings.
Employ managerial and financial skills to maintain and improve health system pharmacies.
Design pharmacy services that meet the needs of the changing health care system.
Convey concepts and ideas clearly and succinctly via verbal or written communication.
Relay ideas that are well researched and objectively stated.
Collect and interpret data useful to improving health system pharmacy services (data driven decision making).
Establish a vision for health-system pharmacy based on current and historical philosophies of pharmacy practice.
Our post-graduate pharmacy training aims to further the Mission and Vision of CPS to empower healthcare organizations to achieve clinical, operational, financial, and regulatory excellence while transforming community healthcare one patient at a time. Our residents will join a team of industry experts with extensive background in transforming pharmacy operations – providing optimized pharmacy best practices and innovative technology solutions. Ultimately driving superior financial and clinical performance across the continuum of care.
All applications must be received by January 6, 2025 and will be screened according to the following criteria:
Graduation from an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) accredited college of pharmacy or have a Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Committee (FPGEC) certificate from the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP).
Enrollment in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP).
Completed pharmacy practice residency application.
Eligibility for licensure in the State of Ohio.
Curriculum vitae contains no deficits or cause for concern in the areas of written communication, pharmacy experience, or academics.
Three recommendation letters and/or forms contain no deficits or cause for concern in the areas of personal relations/maturity/leadership, initiative/motivation, academics, pharmacy experience, or written/verbal communication.
