• All residents receive adjunct clinical faculty appointments at the University of Michigan College of Pharmacy and teach 1 course in the Fall or Winter semester, which provides endless opportunities to refine your didactic and precepting skills. We also provide an optional teaching certificate.

Program Specific information:

The PGY2 Cardiology Residency is an organized, directed postgraduate training program that focuses on the development of the knowledge, attitudes, and skills needed to provide pharmaceutical care in cardiovascular pharmacy practice. The program is structured in accordance with the ASHP Accreditation Standard for Specialized Pharmacy Residency Training in Cardiology.

Program Purpose:

The residency program in cardiology pharmacy practice is designed to develop practitioner expertise in cardiovascular pharmacotherapy to practice in the inpatient or outpatient setting as a clinical pharmacy specialist. 

Requirements:

Eligibility for or hold an active pharmacist and controlled substance license in Michigan, academic transcripts, successful completion of a PGY1 residency program, three letters of reference in the standard PhORCAS form, letter of intent, and curriculum vitae. 

An interview is required and will be scheduled between late January and early February.
