Phoenix Children’s is committed to recruiting, training, and professional development of outstanding diverse residents, clinical pharmacists, and leaders in pediatric pharmacy practice to ensure culturally competent care for our patient population. Our ASHP-accredited Postgraduate Year One (PGY1) Pharmacy Residency Program builds on your Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) education with hands-on experience and leadership training. As a graduate of our program, you’ll be fully prepared to find employment as an independent clinical pharmacist or to begin Postgraduate Year Two (PGY2) pharmacy residency training.

Our ASHP-accredited Postgraduate Year Two (PGY2) Pediatric Pharmacy Residency Program will expand and build on your previous experience and training developed during your PGY1. Our program will tailor your year based on your goals/interests and previous unique PGY1 experiences.  As a graduate of our PGY2 program, you will be fully prepared to become a clinical specialist in pediatrics and pursue board certification in pediatric pharmacy.

The challenging, yet flexible, program will motivate and prepare you to ensure safe and effective evidence-based patient care for pediatric patients. You’ll participate in service activities to enhance your ability to think critically, solve problems and work with diverse professionals in various settings.  Our goal is to help you become a leader in pharmaceutical care, management, education and communication.

Positions available:  PGY1 = 3, PGY2 = 1

Potential candidates for the Pharmacy Residency Programs should submit an application in accordance with the date listed in PhORCAS.  The items below should be submitted with your application through PhORCAS:

• Current curriculum vitae
• Official college transcripts
• Detailed letter of intent
• Three professional letters of reference (If applying for the PGY2, one of the letters needs to be from your PGY1 RPD)

A full day interview with the RPD, preceptors, and current residents of Phoenix Children's is required.  Candidates will be invited to an interview based upon their application, letters of recommendation, and letter of intent. There will also be 2 optional onsite tour dates provided upon interview offer should candidates choose to see the institution in person.

The inpatient pharmacy provides 24/7 coverage for the main Phoenix Children’s campus, including ambulatory clinics and the Hemophilia Treatment Center.
