Position Overview
This full time clinical track faculty position, at the rank of Associate Professor/Professor Clinical, in the Division of Pharmacy Practice and Science, would develop and maintain a direct patient care practice in acute care - general internal medicine at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. They would also develop and maintain a teaching program in various didactic, small group and experiential learning environments in the PharmD program; establishment of nationally recognized contributions in scholarship, as an extension of practice and/or teaching, is an expectation. The primary teaching responsibilities of this position are coordinating and teaching as part of the highly collaborative teaching teams in the PharmD curriculum in the Integrated Pharmacotherapy modules. Other teaching duties may be assigned as needed and based on the successful candidates area of expertise. Participation in scholarly work that supports advancement of pharmacy practice and/or pharmacy education is expected. Candidates must demonstrate exceptional communication skills and a strong record of engagement in practice innovation and scholarly advancement. The faculty member would provide contributions to division, college, university and professional service.
Education and Experience Requirements
Required Education & Experience: Applicants must hold a Doctor of Pharmacy degree and have completed PGY1 Pharmacy Practice residency training. The applicant must have 2-3 years direct patient care experience working as part of an interprofessional team in the acute care setting as well as engagement in team-based scholarship that advances practice; PharmD teaching experience as well as knowledge of pharmacy practice innovation and practice transformation is required.
Desired experience: Preference will be given to applicants with PGY2 residency training. Board certification or the ability to obtain board certification is preferred. The ideal candidate will have already established an emerging national presence in the area of practice, related scholarship and/or service.
This position requires the ability to be credentialed and privileged at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and currently registered, or eligible to register, as a licensed pharmacist in the State of Ohio.
