Lakeland Regional Heath (LRH) is one of Florida’s largest hospitals with 892 beds located between Tampa and Orlando. It is a community regional referral center housing the second busiest single site emergency department (ED) in the nation with a pre-pandemic volume of over 204,000 patient visits annually. LRH is home to a Joint Commission accredited Chest Pain Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center, Level II Trauma Center, Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Center, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, and the only dedicated Pediatric Emergency Department (ED) in the county. LRH has 82 dedicated adult Intensive Care Unit (ICU) beds across four ICUs, including Medical, Neurological, Surgical, and Trauma.
The ASHP-accredited residency is a 12-month, organized, directed, postgraduate training program focusing on the development of the skills and competencies necessary to provide optimal pharmaceutical care to critically ill patients. Under the guidance of specialty trained preceptors, the resident will develop advanced clinical skills and professional confidence. The resident is expected to become an integral component of the multi-disciplinary critical care team working with physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, dieticians, and other pharmacists to provide optimal care to critically ill patients.
Graduate from an ACPE-accredited Doctor of Pharmacy degree program
Successful completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 Pharmacy Residency prior to beginning the PGY2 program
Obtain licensure in the state of Florida by July 15
