This residency program has the goal of developing a well-rounded pharmacy practitioner and future leader in pharmacy practice. Upon completing the Good Samaritan Medical Center Pharmacy Residency Program, the resident will be an experienced and competent provider of pharmaceutical care. They will be confident in their ability to provide optimal patient care in various settings as well as various disease states. The resident will be skilled in pharmacy practice areas that include, patient centered pharmacotherapy, medication / disease education, pharmacy management and operations. The resident will demonstrate professional maturity by developing and following a personal philosophy of practice, monitoring their own performance, and demonstrating leadership and commitment to the pharmacy profession. Core rotations include, Internal Medicine (8 weeks), Infectious Disease (6 weeks), Oncology (6 weeks), Critical Care (6 weeks), Emergency Medicine (6 weeks), Research Project (longitudinal), Administration (longitudinal), and Service (longitudinal). Residents will complete two electives (4 weeks each) and these include Trauma, Nutrition Support, Pulmonary, Ambulatory Care, System Administration and others created based on resident interests.

Our facility is nationally accredited as a Chest Pain Center, Primary Stroke Center and provides Emergency and Level II Trauma Services.
