The Residency Program

The Residency in Pharmacy Practice at Mercy Medical Center Redding is a twelve-month experiential learning process designed to give the resident comprehensive training in providing pharmaceutical care in an integrated health system. Mercy Medical Center provides a learning experience that blends core rotations with longitudinal rotations. Six-week core rotations provide the resident a learning experience that integrates multiple services within a single core. By blending the core rotation experience with a longitudinal rotation, this structure offers a realistic learning opportunity that teaches time management skills.

About Dignity Health Mercy Medical Center Redding

Mercy Medical center is a 267-bed Level II Trauma, acute care hospital that, combined with 1 critical access hospital in Mount Shasta and a community hospital in Red Bluff, forms the Dignity Health North State region. We serve a culturally diverse patient population. Our medical center is community based and is a local center for cardiac procedures, regional cancer services, and contains a Level Ill NICU. We are affiliated with University of the Pacific, Simpson University, and the University of California - Davis and serve as a training site for pharmacy IPPE/ APPE student, nursing students, and a family medicine residency.
