Responsibilities
The Clinical Application Professional 5 is recognized organization-wide expert. This position has significant impact and influence on organizational policy and program development. Regularly assists with leading projects of critical importance to the organization; these projects carry substantial consequences of success or failure. Assists with directing programs with organization-wide impact (or may have impact beyond the University) that include formulating strategies and administering policies, processes, and resources. Significant barriers to entry exist at this level. Assists with defining standards/objectives and assists with leading configuration, build, installation and support of Epic pharmacy applications including Willow Inpatient, Willow Inventory, Willow Ambulatory and Beacon. Applies comprehensive knowledge of professional concepts and industry practices to lead the most complex projects of large size and scope that have critical impact throughout the health system. Partners with subject matter experts and other Epic application leadership to ensure build consistency and a successful end-to-end patient centric workflow. Assists with defining and directing build to support medication billing. Works closely with Pharmacy management and IT leadership on the build and configuration of pharmaceutical products to support safe ordering. Assists team leaders as the team liaison to Epic resources, clinical & business process champions. Assists with development and execution of action plans to remove project barriers relative to the specific application build. Monitors all issues that arise for the application area and escalate unresolved issues and barriers to prevent gaps in timing and quality. Works within established change control procedures for system build and changes. Act as the primary expert and support contact for the Willow/Beacon applications and integration with ADS systems.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in health care information technology, computer science, or related area and / or equivalent combination of experience/training.
Experience initiating, leading, and directing large and complex projects, an expert on multiple aspects of electronic health records and other clinical applications with emphasis on medications-related data elements and workflows.
Experience in identifying and resolving issues in systems analysis and testing for pharmacy clinical information systems
Experience with data analysis, synthesis, and reporting methods
Knowledge of pharmacy-related clinical applications operations, systems, and functions, including planning, design, development, implementation, user support and training, maintenance, quality assurance, and system testing and valuation
Possess problem-solving skills to issues of the most complex nature, and can quickly diagnose problems
Experience developing, testing, and deploying appropriate and effective solutions in a timely manner
Interpersonal communication skills to effectively train, support, and collaborate productively with clinical users, management, and key stakeholders at all professional and technical levels
Highly developed skills and expertise in project management
Highly skilled written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualification
Doctor of Pharmacy or Registered Pharmacist active California license, with at least 5 years of clinical information systems experience.
Special Requirements
The ability to obtained Epic Willow Inpatient certifi cation within 3 months time frame. Including keeping all system and Epic applicationcertifi cations current such as Continuing Epic Education (CEE), and New Version Training (NVT).
Go-lives can require off shift work.
This position may be subject to a criminal background investigation, drug screen, Live Scan fingerprinting, medical evaluation clearance, and functional capacity assessment.
