Job Responsibilities The IT Pharmacy Supervisor provides supervision to pharmacists and reports the IT EMR Rx manager. Position may also include supervision of technical support staff. Responsible for assigned staff scheduling, timekeeping, training, goal settings, and performance evaluations. Manages a highly specialized technical function/team. Oversees operation of EMR pharmacy services, ensuring adherence to productivity; and quality standards, internal policy requirements, and external regulations. Analyzes and resolves problems, interpret policies (e.g. fiscal management, HR, contract and grants, resource management in defined areas) and demonstrates solid subject matter knowledge. Exercises judgement within defined procedures and policies to determine appropriate action. Supervises staff to assure accountability and stewardship of department resources (operational, financial, and human) in compliance with department goals and objectives.
Required Qualifications:
Doctor of Pharmacy degree (Pharm D) or equivalent training
Post graduate year 1 in Pharmacy Practice or equivalent experience required
Registered Pharmacist in the State of California
Experience with leadership within past 3 years in healthcare informatics space
Experience meeting with department chairs and/or hospital executives within past 3 years for healthcare informatics project planning and implementation
Experience as customer relationship manager
Thorough knowledge of clinical application concepts, policies, and practices, including planning, design, and training and support methodologies
Recognized leader and subject matter expert of one or more pharmaceutical clinical applications
Excellent skills in developing strategic plans, build staff competencies, organizing operations, and fiscal management
Excellent leadership skills, with ability to create and maintain a goal orientated climate of teamwork and collaboration across departments for effective problem solving, conflict resolution, support for organizational values, and consistent achievement of objectives
Excellent analytical and critical-thinking skills, to quickly troubleshoot problems, and develop and apply analytics to identify and implement successful solutions
Demonstrated ability to prioritize effectively to meet deadlines in a complex, challenging environment
Excellent ability to collaborate with senior management and executive level staff, to develop and implement objectives, goals, budgets, strategic plans, policies, and priorities, and to measure and evaluate operations in conjunction with them
Excellent communications skills to convey complex information clearly and concisely to all levels of staff and management, with the ability to motivate, influence, and persuade others, and cultivate a strong commitment to efficiency, functionality, and quality customer service
Ability to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with peers, multidisciplinary team members, senior management, and assigned staff
In-depth and comprehensive understanding of clinical applications and integration with clinical processes and workflows
Thorough knowledge of healthcare information technology, medical terminology, and leading clinical information systems
Skills to evaluate issues and identify solutions within defined procedures and policies
Demonstrated ability to solve patient problems and suggest solutions through critical thinking process
Preferred Qualifications
Post graduate year 2 in area of specialty practice or equivalent experience in specialty area
Board Certification in Pharmacotherapy and/or Board Certification in Specialty Practice
Epic Willow, Willow Ambulatory, or Beacon Certifications
Experience with pharmacy operations, workflows and processes
Experience with NDC and other medication table and databases
Experience with pharmacy systems, build
Experience with pharmacy billing systems build and configuration
Special Requirements 3 months to obtain Epic Willow Certification This position may be subject to a criminal background investigation, drug screen, Live Scan fingerprinting, medical evaluation clearance, and functional capacity assessment.
