Compensation:
Pay Range: $120,445 - $195,725 / Yearly

Job Description:

Medication Procurement Manager is a licensed pharmacist with the knowledge and proficiency in pharmacy practice and oversees all aspects of the pharmacy procurement program. The Medication Procurement Manager provides daily oversight and management of key supply chain management inventory control activities for UAB Hospital and The Kirklin Clinic.

* Responsible for maintaining sufficient levels of medications to meet the supply demands of all UAB Main Hospital inpatient care areas, ambulatory clinics, outpatient infusion clinics, and the pharmacy storage areas

* Coordinate procurement of medications from suppliers including, but not limited to: wholesalers, manufacturers, 503b compounding facilities and third party suppliers.

* Prepares forecast for drug demand and creates supply plans to assist with ensuring availability of products.

* Coordinate with pharmacy leadership to manage drug shortages and utilize alternative methods of drug procurement when wholesaler stock is depleted

* Assists in assigning and updating inventory par levels based upon purchase history and usage.

* Recommends measures to improve the quality or delivery of service to customers, and/or to reduce costs associated with the procurement.

* Maintains required documentation for compliance with internal policies, procedures, SOPs, as well as state and federal rules and regulations.

* Ensures cost effective purchasing of pharmaceuticals for UAB Hospital and Kirklin Clinic

Bachelor's degree from an accredited School of Pharmacy and three (3) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement. Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Licensed Pharmacist by the Alabama Board of Pharmacy (ALBOP) required.
