This position is a 100% remote work arrangement, consistent with System Office policy. UNC Chapel Hill employees are generally required to reside in North Carolina, within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned duty station.
The Division of Pharmaceutical Outcomes and Policy in the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy is recruiting an experienced statistician and data analyst for a full-time EHRA Non-Faculty appointment. The Senior Data Analyst position will be under the supervision of the principal Investigator and will provide data extraction, manipulation, management, and analysis support to pharmaceutical outcomes and policy studies aimed at improving the safety and effectiveness of medications used by patients from various populations in a variety of healthcare settings. Responsibilities will include the following: creating analytic data files by using complex programming techniques to extract and aggregate raw healthcare data, contributing to study design and analytical decisions, conducting statistical analyses, documenting programming and results, and assisting in the preparation of reports, manuscripts, and grant proposals. To a lesser extent, the position will also include oversight, training, and support of the supervisor's graduate students, fellows, and trainees in extracting, manipulating, managing, and analyzing healthcare data.
Education and Experience:
The ideal candidate must have at least two years of experience working with large relational databases, processing large administrative healthcare datasets (e.g., medical claims, pharmacy refill records) and/or clinical record databases, and creating final analytical datasets. The candidate should possess strong skills in SAS and/or SQL programming. The ideal candidate should have experience working in SAS, SQL, and Stata and also have experience and training in statistical modeling.
