The Research Pharmacy Operations Manager oversees the daily operations of the research pharmacy and is responsible for the day-to-day operation in delivering pharmaceutical care to patients enrolled on therapeutic clinical trials at all DFCI sites.?? The manager leads the pharmacy team members in clinical, operational, sponsor-related and principal investigator-related issues.

Oversees daily research pharmacy operations to ensure research pharmacy activities and services are carried out in meeting the GCP and other regulatory standards
Supports pharmacy preparation of major co-operative group, DFCI internal, sponsor, NCI or FDA audits
Works closely with research team, nursing, pharmacy, regulatory and other departments to create and implement action plans to address arising patient care issues involving investigational drugs
Monitors key research pharmacy operational metrics and implement workflow changes in response to operational needs
Ensures that the research pharmacy is providing support and guidance to the infusion and clean room pharmacists whenever it is needed
Is available to the Pharmacy and study teams on call for investigational drug issues which may arise
Participates in the development, review, and implementation of pharmacy policies, workflows, and SOPs
Facilitates the communications and coordination of DF/HCC research pharmacies and DFCI satellites in respect to investigational drug treatment
Develops both short-term and long-term goals for the research pharmacy in conjunction with the Director of Research Pharmacy. Actively participates in clinical and research performance improvement programs to accomplish departmental and institutional initiatives
Works with the Medication Safety Officer, the Director of Research Pharmacy, and the Manager of Research Pharmacy Quality, Regulatory & Education to assist in investigating any Safety Reports related to investigational drugs and in any needed follow-up including participation in RCAs as needed
Assists in the preparation of corrective action plans related to research pharmacy violations/deviations that may be required by study sponsors and/or IRB
Works with disease group pharmacists on new clinical trials that may have new level of complexity or new uses of technology
Coordinates and oversees research pharmacy rotation for pharmacy students and residents
Collaborates closely with the rest of management team to achieve synergy amongst functional areas of research pharmacy
Other duties to be assigned per business needs
Bachelor???s Degree or Doctorate in Pharmacy from an accredited college of Pharmacy
7 years of hospital pharmacy or retail pharmacy experience, with 4 years of oncology experience
2 years of supervisory or charge/lead experience
Licensed to practice pharmacy in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
Certification or advanced degree related to the specialty practice area is preferred
