The New School is seeking a full-time Assistant Director for Medical Services (35 hours/week) to join a dynamic interdisciplinary medical care team to provide administrative support to the Senior Director of Medical Services and a team of medical providers. The Assistant Director will have a positive impact on the health of our students while using clinical and administrative skills to their fullest potential. The Assistant Director reports directly to the Senior Director of Medical Services.Â

RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise covid care team (contact tracers, care specialists and any other Covid related staff
Oversee Medical Services office operations and management of patient flow
Provide direct patient care appropriate to license and experience
Manage medical provider schedules and requests for time off
Triage medical appointments to either telehealth, in-person or external referral
Provide administrative oversight of the electronic health record and covid management systems
Respond to student/family concerns and grievances
Manage infection control compliance for health center
Manage and delegate follow up of triage reports provided by Fonemed after hours service,, including appropriate documentation.Â
Manage the Vaccines for Children program- ensure compliance. Coordinate inspections and audits as needed
Organize and coordinate Fall and Spring immunization clinics
Represent Medical Services during orientation sessions and other venuesÂ
Manage Q&A for all CLIA waived tests and equipment used in Medical Services
Oversee and approve inventory and ordering of medical supplies
Coordinate orientation for new medical staff
Oversee the planning, organization and implementation of program-related activities and events
Assist providers with consultant referrals as needed
Develop and maintain relationships with Quest Lab representatives, vendors and pharmaceutical reps.Â
Organize and schedule Sharps and medical waste pick up
Assist with GYN procedures such as IUD insertion/removal, Nexplanon insertion/removal
Supervise temp medical assistant, student workers and/or medical trainees (as needed)
Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Current RN license in New York State/ANP or FNP preferred
BCLS and infection control certificate
Two years of management and clinical experience in a healthcare setting
Excellent computer and technology skills, including all Google suite applications
Experience with electronic health records
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organization skills
Knowledge of general and medical support practices and procedures
Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
Ability to organize and prioritize tasks, maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgment in a dynamic environment
Multicultural competence and a demonstrated commitment to diversity in all forms
Ability to adhere to University COVID-19 policy and requirements.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
ACLS certified
Experience working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary care team
Experience working with adolescents or in a college or school based setting.Â
Multi-lingual a plus
WORK MODE
Hybrid/Split - Employees hired for this position have regularly scheduled, consistent percentage of time on campus (ex 1-4x/week) and also work some of the time remotely.Â
