GASTROENTEROLOGY (IN-GAST-IUINA)

• Takes and records patient's blood pressure, temperature, pulse, height, weight and vision test and report abnormal patient conditions to the physician, nurse practitioner, physician assistant, nurse or physical therapist.
• Responds to patient symptoms and complaints with first aid or consultation with nurses, physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and physical therapist.
• Prepares patients for specific minor surgery and treatment procedures which may include colposcopy, cryo surgery, IUD placement and endometrial biopsies and assists the provider as required during the procedure.
• Prepares medical equipment, laboratory specimen collection materials and pharmaceuticals for patient office examinations.
• Administers routine treatment procedures as ordered and supervised by physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, physical therapist and nurses.
• Performs general office duties as needed.

EDUCATION

Required

• High school diploma or GED

WORK EXPERIENCE

Required

• 6 months experience in health care

This role requires sedentary work as well as extended durations of moving about the workplace. It requires the ability to move objects and equipment weighing up to 25 pounds, and the ability to discern between various objects and devices and to position patients.
