The Ranek Lab has a postdoctoral position available for a motivated and creative scientist with an interest in cardiac physiology and molecular biology. Our research is focused on elucidating the mechanistic underpinnings of cardiac proteinopathies and testing novel therapeutic strategies to treat cardiac disease. We are searching for candidates proficient in cell culture, mouse models, and human biopsies; thus spanning the translational spectrum from bench to bedside. We have funding from the NIH, AHA, private foundations, and pharmaceutical companies. Ideally this person is familiar with common molecular biology techniques such as western blotting, qPCR, immunohistochemistry, and proteomics. Knowledge of cardiac physiology and pathology is desired but not essential.
Qualifications
The candidate should have:
MD or Ph.D
Background in physiology, molecular biology, and biochemistry
