The George Washington University’s Office of Clinical Research (OCR) is a centralized resource that supports the clinical research efforts of investigators across the GW medical enterprise. The Research Program Manager, Clinical Research plays a critical role, serving as a senior level expert with experience in grant and contract proposal development and submissions for complex clinical research applications, with responsibility for overseeing the submission of accurate, timely, and compliant research grant and contract proposal applications for Federal, Foundation, other non-profit, and industry/commercial partners and sponsors. Sole point of contact for grant proposal submissions initiated by physician researchers this position also serves as back up to the Sr. Director, Business Operations, as well as develops and negotiate, as needed, budgets and budget amendments with pharmaceutical companies and medical device manufacturers for industry-sponsored industry-designed, as well as investigator initiated, investigational drug and device clinical trials.

Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 5 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Master’s degree or higher in a relevant area of study plus 3 years of relevant professional experience.
College graduate, post graduate work or relevant certifications a plus.
5 or more years of experience with federal and non-federal grant and contract administration/clinical research administration, including projects supported by pharmaceutical corporate sponsors requiring knowledge of regulatory and financial issues.
Knowledge of applicable FDA and federal regulations governing clinical research.
