Responsibilities Under the direction of the Pharmacy Supply Chain Manager, the Pharmacy Supply Chain Procurement Supervisor provides direction to the pharmacy procurement team to ensure compliance with organizational procurement strategies. The Pharmacy Supply Chain Procurement Supervisor is the team lead and is accountable for the stewardship of pharmacy resources. This position requires an in-depth working knowledge of the Department of Pharmacy purchasing and inventory management practices. Incumbent will serve as the liaison with and coordinator for key department and university stakeholders, advisory committee members, and department administrators on UCDH committees for all pharmacy purchasing initiatives. In addition to supervisory responsibility, work assignments typically require the development of cost analysis, contract negotiations, knowledge of sources of supply for pharmaceuticals, and pharmaceutical-related supplies, and the development of vendor and stakeholder partnerships. Responsibilities often include administration/coordination of projects and/or programs which are often complex in nature. Lead related analytical and highly technical work, and special program/project duties as required. Major goals include the identification of cost-saving opportunities and minimization of risk (potential litigation) for UCDHS regarding its procurement and contracting-related functions. The Pharmacy Supply Chain Procurement Supervisor will be the subject matter expert in procurement administrative systems and is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and reliability of vendor platforms to standardize and optimize procurement practices for the health system. Solid knowledge in virtual centralized inventory systems, third-party split billing software, and finance systems as it relates to pharmacy procurement operations. Responsible for developing and maintaining policies and procedures for pharmacy procurement operations.

Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience or training.
Demonstrated experience of 3 years or more in pharmacy supply chain or health system pharmacy practice required.
Demonstrated intermediate or better Microsoft Excel skills.
Strong communication and customer service skills, including experience preparing materials for a non-financial audience and clearly and effectively communicating information to all staffing levels required.
Interpersonal skills that establish and maintain a friendly, welcoming environment for customer; demonstrate an interested, understanding, compassionate manner; maintain a courteous and calm demeanor; proactively approach to negotiate with and persuade others to take required action.
Ability to maintain composure, efficiency and a positive, customer-service oriented manner during periods of peak workload, with frequent interruptions, under tight deadlines, and when interacting with challenging customers who may be ill, angry, or emotionally distressed.
Problem-solving skills to independently recognize and define a problem; identify the resources available to help solve the problem; create and implement viable solutions under the supervision of the pharmacy supply chain manager; and follow through to ensure the problem is resolved to the satisfaction of all parties as directed by the pharmacy supply chain manager.

California Pharmacy Technician License
Board Certification
Lean Six Sigma certificate
Previous supervisory/leadership experience
Data management, strong customer service skills, project management.
