Description
There is an immediate opening for a postdoctoral Research Fellow or Research Associate position in the Division of Clinical Pharmacology at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. The position is funded for 5 years. The research is focused on pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic modeling and simulation of beta-lactam antibiotics in critically ill children and adults to build evidence for model-informed precision dosing and to translate this work to the bedside in patients. The ideal candidate should have a strong interest in model-informed precision dosing (MIPD), pharmacometrics and biostatistical approaches (such as nonlinear mixed effects modeling and Bayesian statistics) to evaluate and optimize pharmacotherapy.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design, execute, and record laboratory experiments, and analyze the data.
Research and improve current methods and evaluate innovative techniques. Implement this knowledge in the Division/Department.
Present research at laboratory meetings, journal clubs, seminars, and meetings.
Draft, write, and edit scientific reports, papers, journal articles, abstracts, and grants.
Maintain currency in field through continuing education, literature, and seminars.
Attend required Cincinnati Children's training sessions and ensure regulatory compliance with all policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.

PhD, PharmD, MD or MS in Pharmacokinetics, Pharmaceutical sciences, Pharmacy, Biostatistics or related discipline at the time of appointment
Preferred:
PhD, PharmD, MD or MS in Pharmacokinetics, Pharmaceutical sciences, Pharmacy, Biostatistics or related discipline at the time of appointment.
Experience with PK/PD modeling and simulation and related software packages
Experience with biostatistics and related programming software
Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team to learn and integrate knowledge across different disciplines
Excitement to learn new skills in pharmacometrics, including population PK modeling, PK/PD modeling and PBPK modeling
