The Center for Pharmacoepidemiology and Treatment Science (PETS) in partnership with Sanofi invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Epidemiology.
The position focuses on epidemiology, specifically the application of methodologies and study designs suitable for assessing the utilization, safety, and effectiveness of medications within the Sanofi portfolio. Research fellows will have the opportunity not only to train in epidemiology, but also to learn new quantitative methods relating to signal detection, risk management, and structured benefit-risk evaluation. The fellow will conduct mentored research for the practical application of novel methodologies and will be expected to work within a team environment to conduct studies, publish, and present findings to a wide variety of stakeholders (including non-scientists and other pharmacoepidemiologists). Opportunities will also be available for writing research proposals and teaching experiences.
The individual will conduct research studies (i.e., synopsis/proposal, design, analysis, and interpretation) not limited to the areas noted above, prepare study concepts and full protocols/SAPs, present research and publish in a timely manner, conduct targeted literature reviews, participate in research meetings at Rutgers, interact with Rutgers faculty, and receive mentorship by Rutgers faculty member and Sanofi epidemiologists. The fellow will split their time with Rutgers and Sanofi and is expected to participate in international conferences and publish conference and journal papers.
The position is for 1 year with the possibility of renewal for an additional year.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Doctoral degrees in Epidemiology, Pharmaceutical Outcomes, Biostatistics, or a similar field, OR professional doctorates (MD, PharmD) with graduate training in epidemiology.
