Summary of Duties:
The College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences (CPPS) has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and qualified individual to join our Business Services team as a Grant and Contract Research Administrator. This position provides a high level of financial and organizational oversight to CPPS faculty, administration, and students in the area of research administration, including accurate and comprehensive budgetary coordination of research related grants and contracts.
This position serves as a grants manager assisting with the smooth operation of proposal submission, award review and documentation, compliance with federal, stage, and university policies and procedures, and final closeout of research related grants and contract awards. In addition, this position provides financial advice, interpretation and evaluation of agency guidelines, recommendations for funding opportunities, and comprehensive budgetary administration.

Grants/Contracts Pre-Award Management - 40%
Grants and Contracts Post Award & Award Closure - 35%
Principal Investigator (PI) Support and Reports Management/Analysis - 20%
Other - 5%
Required Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree or equivalent, which must include 18 quarter or 12 semester hours in accounting, auditing, or budgeting and one year of relevant professional experience; OR equivalent education/experience.
Additional Requirements:
Demonstrated customer service experience working with a diverse clientele.
Demonstrated knowledge of and comfort with Microsoft Office software products.
Demonstrated experience in financial budgeting and analysis.
WSU Research Administration Certification or the ability to obtain within 12 months of hire.
ORSO Budget Certification or the ability to obtain within 12 months of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
Additional two years of experience with research administration at WSU or other institute of higher education.
Demonstrated work experience that requires fiscal accountability, internal controls, and organizational skills.

Monthly Salary: Range 44, $3,558.00 - $4,777.00. Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28.
