This position will work a hybrid schedule which includes a combination of working both onsite at Moores Cancer Center and remote.

DESCRIPTION
The Moores Cancer Center is one of just 53 NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers in the United States and the only one in San Diego County. Under the general direction of the Program Leaders of the Moores Cancer Center Research Programs and/or Initiatives and the Executive Director for Cancer Research, the primary responsibilities of this position are in program management with some additional duties in pre-award research administration and manuscript submission.
Incumbent has full functional responsibility for planning, implementing, evaluating, and communicating about program seminars, projects, and both internal and external events. These responsibilities include but are not limited to preparation of project proposals, marketing materials, reports, budget preparation, review/analysis of expenditures and requisitions for purchases, and coordination of activities with other divisions and departments. This position will interact with diverse groups of people at all levels within multiple organizations, including individuals at the UCSD campus, RCHSD, the VA, as well as our consortium partners at SDSU and LJI.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Six (6) years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor's degree in related area plus two (2) years of related experience/training.
Two (2) years of relevant research and/or project management experience in healthcare and/or finance. Knowledge of basic financial management principles and the ability to analyze financial and budgetary data. Demonstrated experience in budget preparation using automated spreadsheet systems.
Working knowledge of common organization- or research-specific and other computer application programs. Proficient in the use of standard software applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop, email programs, databases, and internet browsers.
Demonstrates ability to analyze, research and synthesize large amounts of data with strong attention to detail. Skill in analyzing information, situations, practices, and procedures to define the problem or objective, identify relevant factors, formulate logical and objective conclusions and recognize alternatives and their implications.
High level administrative skills to include experience with complex calendaring, domestic and international travel, and event/meeting planning.
Knowledge of contract and grant proposal formats, preparation, and submission, as well as federal, state and private funding agency regulations. Ability to guide principal investigators and administrative contacts in the preparation of proposal, continuation, and renewal materials.
