The PGY1 Community-based Pharmacy Residency Program offered by The Department of Pharmacy Practice and Science at The University of Iowa College of Pharmacy is designed to assist graduate pharmacists in developing specialized clinical skills in the community pharmacy setting. Established in 1997, the residency is a collaboration of the College and innovative practitioners, and has graduated over 100 residents. This residency offers five unique community pharmacy practice sites and residents are matched to the site that best fits their interest. Sites include MercyOne Pharmacy in Dubuque, Iowa, HyVee Pharmacy in Iowa City, IA, Greenwood Pharmacy in Waterloo, Iowa, Osterhaus Pharmacy in Maquoketa, IA, and Towncrest Pharmacy in Iowa City, IA.
