Thank you for your interest in WVU Medicine – WVU Hospitals' Pharmacy Residency Program. Our residency has over 35 years of history and has developed into one of the most high-quality programs across the country.  The WVU Medicine Pharmacy Residency Program was started in 1985 by then Residency Coordinator, Art Poremba, and accredited by ASHP in 1987. Since its inception, 136 residents have completed the PGY1 program. In addition to the PGY1 program, WVU Medicine offers a PGY1/PGY2/MHA Health System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership Residency, a PGY1 Community-Based Pharmacy Residency with an emphasis in specialty pharmacy, as well as seven PGY2 programs, including Ambulatory Care, Cardiology, Critical Care, Infectious Diseases, Internal Medicine, Oncology, and Pediatrics.
