The UC College of Medicine, Office of Clinical Research is seeking a Clinical Research Manager to collaborate and coordinate with clinical research departments, Principal Investigators, UC and UC Health administration to provide guidance, solutions and processes to improve all areas related to clinical research.
Oversee or contribute to clinical research services, including contracting, budgeting, recruitment, compliance, education, training, billing, etc., in accordance with UC /UC Health policy and federal laws and regulations.
Maintain operations and continuity if needed, in the event of absence of leadership or key personnel.
Guide the Office of Clinical Research in continual improvement, metrics/business analytics and clinical research feasibility and start-up at UC and UC Health.
Support research billing and research technology platform solutions related to UC and UC Health.
Initiate and maintain Quality Improvement program and processes to monitor and maintain immediate and long-term goals to increase clinical research and improve overall workflow. This may include all aspects of the clinical research process including budgets, contracts, billing and technology support.
Manage resources of assigned Clinical Research areas to accomplish specified goals/objectives.
Supervise and manage Office of Clinical Research staff; develop growth plans and evaluate roles regularly; implement cross training initiatives.
Maintain regulatory and scientific integrity of projects with the assistance of clinical research study teams.
Coordinate activities administered by the research program or service area and in the development and implementation of procedures for the Clinical Research program/service area.
Responsible for assisting in the interpretation and implementation of policies and procedures as they apply to assigned areas of responsibility. Recommend changes on policy/procedures as necessary.
Advise, support, guide and provide consultation to faculty, physicians and department administrators on specific research administration activities and services as needed.
Support business development opportunities in clinical trials.
Coordinate special projects as assigned.
Communicate effectively with external and internal research support entities. Demonstrate diplomacy, tact and professional demeanor.
Demonstrate leadership and management skills.

Nine (9) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.
Five (5) years related experience.
Additional Qualifications Considered
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Law or Healthcare Management with experience in business operations, supervisory experience healthcare, pharmaceutical or academic environment; OR 6 years clinical research experience with extensive experience with clinical trials of varied design and complexity.
2 - 5 years of clinical study personnel management (i.e., direct people management).
Possesses broad and deep knowledge of industry contract, budget development and negotiations.
REDCap, EPIC, SignalPath, Complion, and other clinical research platform knowledge, clinical trials processes is strongly ideal.
