The Pharmacy Materials Management Manager is responsible for the daily support and direction of pharmacy materials management.?? This includes supervising the inventory specialist, purchasing specialist, and technicians.?? Responsibilities include supervising the daily workflow, overseeing the purchasing and inventory functions to ensure proper drug and supply inventory levels, and quality control of all tasks.?? The Manager will be responsible for medication month end reporting and financials, drug contracting and pricing, new technology market place monitoring, maintaining specific metrics and ensuring their compliance.?? The Manager is expected to develop and maintain effective working relationships with DFCI personnel and serve on appropriate departmental and interdepartmental committees.?? The Pharmacy Materials Management Manager will help to develop, implement, and administer the operating policies and procedures for the materials management area of the pharmacy department.

This position is 100% on-site.

1. Supervises the daily operations of the materials management area.
2. Provides support for staff overcoming obstacles and/or constraints impeding daily, weekly or monthly activities.
3. Advocates for and support the staff with the goal of meeting the demands of the business.
4. Participates in the development and implementation of pharmacy policies and procedures.
5. Assists in the orientation of new pharmacy staff.
6. Coordinates pharmacy activities with other department managers.
7. Develops and manages ongoing continuous improvement initiatives.
8. Participates in the orientation and training of pharmacy staff.
9. Collects and analyzes data from multiple sources for review with pharmacy management
10. Responsible for pharmacy system specific tasks such as medication list management, drug dictionary updates, weekly prices-changes, and single-use waste reporting in Materials Management specific systems.
11. Manages the weekly price change process and quality controls with the data, which will ensure accurate patient charging and inventory evaluation monthly.

12. Monitors to ensure complete compliance with the Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA).
13. Identifies key metrics, setting targets, reporting key metrics to pharmacy management, and maintaining the ongoing monitoring.
14. Responsible for drug contracting and pricing, new technology market place monitoring.
15. Manages the month end reporting process for the pharmacy department.
16. Oversees the workflow manage and track waste.
17. Responsible for meeting inventory variance limits of 3% of our total inventory value at all sites.

Minimum Education:

???????? Bachelor???s Degree or Doctorate in Pharmacy from an accredited college of Pharmacy

Minimum Experience:

???????? 5 years of related healthcare experience required, 2 years of hospital pharmacy experience required, and
?????? 3 years in a supervisory role.?? Prior materials management experience preferred.

Licensure:

Must be licensed to practice pharmacy in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
