• Direct and oversee cost effective formulary management initiatives and processes. 

• Direct the development, implementation, and maintenance of the clinical pharmacy programs. 

• Ensure clinical pharmacy services in the assigned area are compliant with all regulatory, professional and departmental standards.

• Maintain responsibility for inter-and intra-departmental communication, special projects, and services.

• Make decisions for direct reports and performs people management activities such as performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, staff planning, and interviews.

• Supervise direct reports and manages the performance of individuals through ongoing coaching, feedback, and development to motivate, engage and drive a high performing team.

• Track and report on established departmental performance metrics to evaluate program activities and outcomes. 

• Assist in maintaining pharmacy operations and supporting processes, including PYXIS maintenance, drug procurement, and inventory management.

• Collect, review, and summarize intervention and quality assurance data including quality outcomes and cost impacts. 

• Coordinate and deliver ongoing staff education for clinical and pharmacy staff. 

• Coordinate and prepare Pharmaceutical and Therapeutics (PT) Committee meeting agendas to facilitate review, development and ongoing maintenance of medications and related products listed on the

• Determine clinical and pharmacy staff objectives, work methods and performance standards to drive optimal efficiency.

• Determine the objectives of the department, and develops, implements, and directs clinical pharmacy policies, protocols, and procedures to ensure achievement of objectives.

• Prior hospital clinical pharmacy experience.

• Adapt to high volume and high stress areas.

• Broad knowledge of pharmacology of general disease states commonly found in the hospital setting.

• Knowledge of Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Standard Precautions.

• Customer service skills.

• Deliver presentations and public speaking engagements.

• Detailed and well organized.

• Effectively communicate verbally and in writing.

• Knowledge about drug therapy, including an understanding of the underlying principles in a broad range of areas.

• Understanding of the tracking of clinical outcomes and how to use this information across multiple facilities to improve clinical pharmacy services.
