Main Purpose of Job :
First line responder; pivots between strategy, operations and transactional sourcing
Execute against category strategies and work in the guidance of strategic category leaders
Manage SOWs/RFI's/Ordering documents. Assist with supplier selection.
Manage day to day supply issues. Analyses possible solutions using standard procedures. Communicates pertinent information to both internal customers and suppliers to keep apprised and to prevent problems.
Support PO conversion - non- transactional and some negotiations
Manage PO approvals
Educate on existing solutions and enable performance and tech tools development
PO change management and communicate trends of changes
Enable supplier integration and KPI's
Drive savings outcomes
Collaboration with functions
Create and implement RFPs.
Proactively identifies areas of opportunity for new business opportunities, process improvement, and cost efficiencies.
Considered an SME of categories under their responsibilities.
Impact of the position:
Applies experience and procurement knowledge to execute the purchasing and supply management strategies created by the Category Managers.
Work with customers, internal and external, and the other LATAM sites to solve issues and drive high levels of customer service.
This role will work across multiple regional projects of category.
The position will be responsible for Operations and Tactical work with the various categories.
The Specialist has delegated authority to commit company funds while contributing cost savings and partnerships with suppliers and internal customers.
Proactively seek innovative ways to improve the procurement processes, cycle times, and customer service levels
Full understanding of the "One Procurement" strategies.Strong knowledge and project work across multiple categories that impact the team positively.
Works within defined processes and procedures and may help determine appropriate approaches for change
Core Job Responsibilities:
Implement agreed purchasing strategies for category
Seek and support business relationships with diverse suppliers
Meet regularly with Mexico site customers and support functions to ensure good customer satisfaction and continuous improvement
Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional policies and procedures.
Executes against the goals set by the Category Leads/Managers.
Seek innovative ways to maintain and improve procurement processes, cycle times, total acquisition costs, and customer service levels.

You will report to the Mexico Procurement Manager.

To be successful in this role, you will require the following qualifications:
Minimum of 2-4 years' of Procurement experience. Functional experience.
Strong project management skills
Lead cross-functional program teams
Good verbal, written communication skills. Ability to interface with and influence multiple areas, external and internal to Abbott is essential.
Knowledge of regulatory, compliance and market access requirements linked to product sourcing in support of building sourcing strategies
Goal oriented, able to work within a team environments and cultural diversity.
Highly develop solving problem ability
Proactive internal and external stakeholder communication, coordination and collaboration
Regional vision of the interactions in a demanding environment
Robust people skills that include developing strong relationships and solving problems.
Strong use of spreadsheet programs.

Some experience with Supplier management
Knowledge of category technologies and products.
Good negotiating skills
BA or equivalent experience required: MBA preferred
Successful, 2+ year of procurement experience
Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or similar certification desirable
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, with high-level working knowledge of SAP R/3.
