ABBOTT NUTRITION
Abbott Nutrition (ANSC) develops and markets a wide range of nutritional products and devices to support the growth, health and wellness of people of all ages. Infant formula nutrition in a variety of liquid and powder packaging formats, adult and disease specific nutrition are made in six manufacturing plants across Europe and Asia (as well as in the US). The nutrition or feed contains all the necessary calories and vitamins that the patient will need. Abbott Nutrition is a leader in providing enteral feeding devices, including enteral feeding pumps, pump sets, enteral feeding tubes and kits. These are made in one of the seven manufacturing sites.
We are looking for a Procurement Coordinator to support our Global Procurement team in Zwolle
Global Procurement is responsible for sourcing and securing ingredient commodities required to support Manufacturing, R&D, Marketing, QA and Regulatory, at lowest total cost, using suppliers who meet or exceed our quality, service, and delivery expectations. If these activities are not completed successfully, then timely delivery of materials is jeopardized, leading to inefficiencies in production, possibly production line shutdown, inadequate inventory and lost sales.
Procurement Coordinator
The Procurement Coordinator serves as the primary Abbott Procurement contact for suppliers in performing the day-to-day activities necessary to enable Abbott Nutrition plants purchase commodities, while contributing to Margin & Profitability initiatives, cost savings, supply chain continuity and other value added activities. All activities must adhere to Corporate Purchasing Policies and Division Procurement Procedures. The Coordinator demonstrates the ability to prioritize and multitask to enhance productivity and manage workload with minimal supervision. Must have analytical and problem solving skills, ability to make decisions quickly using sound judgment, understand inventory control and basic accounting principles, and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Major Responsibilities:
Approve invoices to be paid at or below $50 thousand per purchasing authority.
Communicate continuously with external partners (Suppliers, Third Party Manufacturers, Freight Carriers) and internal departments, including but not limited to Manufacturing Plants, Planning Departments, QA. Engineering and Finance to assure materials are delivered on time, at the right price, to the correct location, and according to Abbott specifications.
When appropriate, assemble bid packages and requests for quotes or proposals, distribute to suppliers and consolidate responses for review by the appropriate Buyer.
Create yearly blanket purchase orders for commodities supplied to Abbott's domestic & international manufacturing plants and third party manufacturers.
Act as the liaison between Abbott and Suppliers when deliveries are late or on hold. Coordinate whatever actions are necessary to get the materials delivered, including expediting delivery from alternate sources.
Verify that purchase order releases and requisitions reflect the proper price and lead times, based on current contracts. Review supplier price confirmations to ensure current price is reflected in systems. Discuss with Suppliers any price discrepancies and notify Buyers.
Utilize systems and resources to support clearance, delivery and compliance of international and domestic orders, when applicable.
Partner with suppliers when necessary to alleviate quality problems. Work with the Buyers, manufacturing plants, Abbott QA, other internal departments and Suppliers to identify and implement solutions.
Act as the liaison between Abbott Accounts Payable and suppliers on invoicing issues.
Manage communication related, but not limited to: specifications with Suppliers.
Generate forecasts for commodities purchased for the US and/or global operations. Perform comparative analysis on forecasts, actuals and contracts for global purchases to provide timely and comprehensive information about inventory, contract balances, and production changes. Offer recommendations to management to move volumes and/or increase contracts to avoid supply issues. Escalate issues suppliers may have about the forecasts.
Support contract negotiations
Ensure compliance to Abbott policies and procedures and manage audit readiness metrics.
Support and/or lead ingredient projects e.g. new supplier, new commodity qualification
Requirements:
Nevi 1, or a minimum of 2 years of experience in the area of; Procurement/ Materials Management.
Minimum level of education is MBO level 4, a Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
Excellent Excel skills combined with an aptitude for analytics
Solid professional written and verbal skills in English and preferably in Dutch.
Have the ability to both convince and persuade as a Procurement Professional and a Sales person.
Experience with business intelligence software (e.g. QlikView, Cognos)
Basic knowledge of GMP and Food/Pharma industry standards.
Support annual standard price revision process
Ideal candidate has potential to transition/develop to buyer level within 2-year timeframe.
Systems Support: Managing purchases requires technical aptitude with systems and a working knowledge of several software packages. including:
