POSITION SUMMARY: The Program Management (Research) position uses established best practice principles for the conduct of human subject's research and program management to oversee the coordination and administration of all aspects of the program operations. Responsibilities associated with program operations include planning, organizing, staffing, and evaluating program infrastructure and strategic direction. The program activities include project management and oversight to meet study milestones and deliverables. The Research Project Manager reports directly to the project Principal Investigator. PRIMARY FUNCTIONS: -
Oversee and actively participate in research and related activities in accordance with the mission and goals of ongoing projects. -
Assist with the development of research proposals for funding initiatives that are consistent with the Principal Investigator's strategic research priorities. -
Assure compliance with all requirements of funding agencies and sponsors that support ongoing research activities; collaborate with business office and research administration personnel to document activities and deliverables using designated forms; and work with key personnel to obtain and provide documents and documentation of project activities for which the Principal Investigator is responsible. -
Plan the delivery of the overall program and its activities in accordance with the mission and the goals of the research program. -
Determine the objectives, deliverables, and metrics upon which the project(s) will be evaluated; create detailed work plans that describe the personnel, time, resources, and sequences of activities needed to implement interventions and successfully complete analyses and report of results, dissemination, and other project activities for which the Principal Investigator is responsible. -
Ensure that all project personnel receive an appropriate orientation and periodic updates to the project aims, activities, deliverables, and personnel responsibilities. -
Execute projects according to project protocols and develop materials for presentation and dissemination that reflect project progress. Contribute to writing of research products such as abstracts, manuscripts, and other reports. -
Review the project schedule with the study Principal Investigator, key project personnel, and collaborators or staff that are involved in project activities; revise the schedule as required and review the quality of the work completed with the project team on a regular basis to ensure that it meets the project standards. -
Manage project staff and/or volunteers according to the established policies and practices and develop forms and records to document project activities. -
Set up files and procedures to ensure that all project information is appropriately documented and secured, monitor the progress of the project, and adjust as necessary to ensure the successful completion of the project. -
Evaluate the outcomes of the project as established during the planning phase and the impact of the project during the study conduct phase and reporting of results phase. Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFCATIONS: Education: Bachelor's degree. Master's degree in epidemiology, statistics, public health, or a related field preferred. Experience: Four years (4) of program oversight including program planning, and coordination. At least (3) years of Research and Project management preferred. Supervisory Experience: Two (2) years of direct management experience required. PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: -
