About Union Square Optical
Union Square Optical opened in 1985, and for over 35 years, the practice has served New York City and surrounding communities with a top-notch eye care experience. Combining style, quality, and fashion, patients can expect to receive unparalleled service and eyewear that meets their fashion preferences. The practice specializes in primary eye disease exams, chronic dry eye syndrome, eye fatigue, computer eye strain, and hard-to-fit progressive contact lens fittings. The practice also has a strong focus on optical products and offers personalized eyewear styling. Centrally located in Union Square on West 14 Street, accessible from all subway lines, this prime location experiences a significant amount of foot traffic daily. To support the practice's continued growth and preserve its hallmark service, Union Square Optical is looking to add a provider to the highly-trained staff of six employees.
The practice uses state-of-the-art diagnostic technology and vision correction products to diagnose and treat a wide array of ocular conditions. Fully suited with top-of-the-line optical equipment, the practice utilizes KR-1 Auto Kerato-refractometer and other advanced technology. Online appointment scheduling and office communications are offered via text messaging. In addition, patients enjoy a high-end shopping experience as they browse the optical boutique with a wide selection of frames for fashion and lifestyles.
About the Part-Time Opening
Union Square Optical is seeking a part-time Associate Optometrist to provide care on Tuesdays from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. You'll conduct comprehensive eye examinations for visual and ocular health for patients of all ages, conditions, and visual and medical diagnoses. You'll also perform contact lens fittings--at least 20 patients or more are cared for daily. The practice is looking for a professional certified in Therapeutic Pharmaceutical Agents and has the strong ability to multitask.
To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate leadership, excellent patient communication skills, interpersonal skills, and compassion for patient health and safety. In addition, the ideal candidate will want to develop skills through mentorship with experienced doctors and integrate new techniques and innovations that improve patient care and services.
Minimum qualifications include:
- Optometry License in New York
- Therapeutic Pharmaceutical Agents Certified
