Current Need
The Enterprise Analytics Customer Solutions team is seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst to join the team in Irving, TX . The Business Intelligence Analyst will support strategic initiatives within Brand and Specialty Drug Program & Pricing. The Business Intelligence Analyst would develop to be a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders. We operate like a start-up and are looking for a candidate that is passionate about analytic insights and solutions to improve healthcare and drive business value.
Position Description
The Business Intelligence Analyst will collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand and define challenges, create analysis, and drive strategic solutions. The position will collect, manipulate, and analyze data assets from a variety of sources to gain insight and present analysis through visualizations, such as graphs, charts, and dashboards. Using standard formulas and methods, perform basic and advanced statistical evaluations and analysis of data in all stages including collection, analysis, and reporting. Responsibilities will include gathering & interpreting data, creating ad-hoc reports, improving existing reports, performing buy and sell profitability analysis, analyzing data to forecast trends and conduct predictability outcomes, and building user facing data driven applications.
- Uses Structured Query Language (SQL) to gather and assess data from the reporting database, transactional database, operational data store, and external systems to assist internal and external leadership in decision making.
- Analyses existing and new data assets to identify pricing and process opportunities for stakeholders
- Support continuous quality improvement efforts using performance metrics development and monitoring.
- Exhibit strong communication skills with stakeholders to assess challenges and lead change management
- Continually assesses data quality throughout the database and coordinates with IT in the correction of source data or creation of translation sources, where applicable.
- Continually researches and identifies best practices for business data analysis via published literature, formalized training, and professional development efforts.
- Authenticates and interprets data based on results using a variety of techniques, ranging from simple data aggregation via statistical analysis to complex data mining.
- Communicates and disseminates the results of information gathering using BI software, SSRS, and/or Excel to name a few.
- Reasonable and consistent attendance to fulfill requirements of the position
Minimum Requirements
Degree or equivalent and typically requires 4+ years of relevant experience.
Critical Skills
- 3+ years' experience in data analysis; 3+ years' experience in a consultative-like role
- Working knowledge of financial, pricing, and master data
- Advanced SQL skills leveraged in Postgres, Snowflake, Microsoft SQL Server, or similar
- Intermediate understanding of data architecture
Additional Knowledge and Skills
- Working knowledge of SAP a plus
- Established skills in Excel and PPT
- Intermediate/Advanced knowledge of business intelligence applications (e.g., Tableau)
- JavaScript, Python a plus but not required
- Intermediate data science skills a plus but not required (specifically knowledgeable in leveraging forecasting/prediction packages)JIRA
Education
- 4-year degree in Computer Science, Finance, Information Systems, Business Analytics or related field or equivalent experience
- MBA/Advanced degree a plus
