The Manglik lab at UCSF is looking for a highly motivated lab manager/research associate in the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry. The main goal of the Manglik lab is to understand the most fundamental principles of how cell surface proteins enable organisms to sense and respond to their outside world. We are seeking someone to join our team rooted in equity, diversity, and curiosity. The available research position will enable the individual to expand their management skills and learn new approaches in molecular biology and biochemistry.
JOB OVERVIEW Manage day-to-day lab operation including ordering supplies, maintain lab stocks, manage chemical inventory and safety records, organize reagents, assist with biological and radiological use authorization compliance, equipment maintenance, assist with lab organization, material transfer requests, oversight of record keeping, and assist with grant preparations.
In addition to daily lab operation, candidate will be expected to carry out specific tasks at the laboratory bench to enable the broader mission of the lab. These studies will require the candidate to be highly engaged and proactive in a dynamic research environment in a highly collaborative environment.
