Summary of Position: This position is designed to provide teaching for professional pharmacy students. This position is designed to cover temporary leaves within the College of Pharmacy.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
100% - Teaching Serves as primary instructor for Pharmaceutical Calculations during Spring semester. This course covers calculations critical to pharmacy practice as a 1 hr/week course for first year students. This includes, but may not be limited to: -Implement previously set syllabus, course schedule, grading policy for both TC and Duluth campuses -Work closely and regularly communicate with first year lab course directors in Duluth and TC -Hold office hours (or open office door policy) -Facilitate and supervise teaching assistants’ instruction in the course -Monitor teaching assistants’ provision of feedback, including grading of students’ activities -Work with appropriate staff to maintain supplies necessary for the delivery of the course -Assist with student outreach training as a member of the lab skills teaching group -Assist with skills lab as needs and schedules allow
Supervision: Direct the work of teaching assistants grading pharmaceutical calculations

Required qualifications- Pharm.D. degree and residency training or equivalent experience, license (or licensed to practice pharmacy in the state of Minnesota by start date), and a strong pharmacy practice background, including knowledge of the philosophy and practice of pharmaceutical care.
Preferred qualifications- Experience in more than one health care setting, teaching experience, knowledge of computer technology in support of teaching, and a demonstrated commitment to the profession and to high quality patient care.
