The Department of Radiation Oncology is seeking a Clinical Trials Research Analyst to provide support in all responsibilities related to government/private and pharmaceutical clinical research studies/trials. Duties of the Clinical Trials Research Analyst will include; screening and assessing subjects for study; analyzing and preparing data, writing reports and assisting in drafting manuscripts and papers. The Clinical Trials Research Analyst will be fully trained and certified in IRB regulations required for this position.
Participates in patient education, obtaining informed consent, ordering pre-randomization tests, and dispensing and ordering study drug
Conducts follow-up evaluations, both inpatient and outpatient, including monitoring of safety data, assuring compliance with study protocol
Maintains case report forms
Interacts with the Institutional Review Board (IRB)
Responsible for retrieval and entry of data from study site
Reviews and extracts data from patient charts
Assists with preparation of data for statistician and develops ongoing reports for PI, statisticians and DSMB.
Performs other related duties as assigned
Bachelor's degree in biological sciences or equivalent in education, training, and experience, plus two years of related experience.
If it is a college graduate, background in life sciences is preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail required
Must be able to work effectively with minimal supervision
Prior medical office experience (could be Medical Office Assistant, receptionist, scheduler)
Knowledge of medical terminology, how to read medical records
Computer skills (knows how to type, knows how to write emails, use the internet, data entry, word, excel, electronic medical records)
Willing to learn about clinical research- what research is, how to read a protocol
Attentive to details
Can work well with others/ interpersonal skills/ communication skills
Has to be willing to complete Human Subject Protection Training, Good Clinical Practice Training, HIPAA training
