Job Purpose: The Oncology Area Leader is responsible for leading and developing a group of Specialists dedicated to meeting and exceeding sales objectives and to enabling Novartis to reimagine Cancer. Your Key Responsibilities: * Lead the implementation of national and regional strategies for the promoted product line. Customers include office-based Physicians, Consultant Pharmacists, Medical Directors, key Medical and Nursing personnel, among others. * Hire, train, mentor, conduct performance management/evaluations, and develop coaching plans to ensure efficient and effective account targeting and coverage. * Build the Oncology Specialist Sales Team and collaborate with cross-functional teams and other assigned resources to develop and deliver product and disease state account business plans. * Strong analytical skills are required to effectively use personal and promotional resources to improve sales and market share. * Create and implement an area business plan to address product promotion priorities and valid customer requirements. * Represent a consistent "CUSTOMER FIRST" approach to business activities and relationships while developing and demonstrating outstanding planning, organizational and leadership skills with an experienced sales force. * Serve as a peer leader and resource to the "TEAM" at both an area and national level.
