We are seeking a Sr. Demand Analyst to join our Demand Planning team in either Jacksonville, FL or Richmond, VA
Responsible for creating forecasts for large SKU counts and continuing to improve the forecast accuracy for a portfolio of products. Responsibilities for improving the forecast include tuning the forecast model parameters, collaborating with other functional areas, understanding the market dynamics for the products that are being forecasted, and/or redesigning processes to better predict future demand. Evaluates, plans, and monitors demand for seasonal and weather-related spikes, large-scale product conversions, upcoming promotions, and new product launches. This includes providing insight into demand trends for products that may be viable candidates for these initiatives. Generates reporting to measure performance against expected results, both during and after each event. This role will lead and/or facilitate cross-functional meetings for key categories. When appropriate, this role will also ensure that key sourcing process steps take place for each initiative.
Develop demand plans and forecasts for all item branch combinations by adjusting forecasting parameters applicable to the forecasting model.
Develop new product launch demand plans and model appropriately, based on previous similar product launches.
Communicate significant forecast changes and assumptions to the Purchasing Team to assure supply plans reflect the new forecast.
Assure plan execution for activities that are driving extraordinary forecast changes.
Collaborate with PSSP, Corporate Accounts, and/or other functional teams to ensure future events and constraints are incorporated into the forecast.
Identify shifts and trends in product categories between branded products and "Our Brands".
Identify, manage, and define "events" that are occurring to detect the impact of the event on actual sales history.
Monitor progress of item usage between forecast cycles: addressing high forecast error items and updating forecast when appropriate.
Integrate demand from acquisitions, branch mergers, new customers, large inventory requests, etc. for accurate supply plans to be developed and ensure customer on-boarding experience is successful.
5+ years inventory management experience
College degree and/or equivalent experience
Proficiency with MS Excel (Formulas, pivots, VLOOKUPS), MS Access, Toad (ability to pull date, analyze and present to others)
Additional Knowledge & Skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work with all levels of the organization and external vendor partners
Proven ability to identify and solve problems
Leadership and collaboration skills
Ability to understand various forecasting models and the parameters that influence the generation of the forecast
Knowledge of supply chain processes and systems
