We are seeking a Sr. Manager, Design Management to join our team in Irving, TX or The Woodlands, TX.
Direct the efforts of the Design Management group in the selection of architectural firms, architectural design reviews from test fits through construction documents and oversee all furniture selections and installations to comply with workplace standards. Provide guidance and oversight of the DM team to lead and execute the architectural and furniture plan for assigned projects, providing direct support to the Customer Relationship Management & Project Management Groups in servicing all McKesson Business Units.
Oversee the effort of DM in the test fits of new facilities.
Oversees architectural design and reviews drawings at each design gate for compliance.
Directs the development and modification of new furniture purchasing task orders. Responsible for managing the delivery of all reporting that will be used as management. decision support tools for forecasting space needs (business demand).
Provide oversight of DM while they develop, oversee and execute migration and phasing plans for relocation and sequencing based on the physical space requirements.
Executes change management process for unplanned and special project requests.
Manages the furniture portfolio. Responsible for tool upgrades and management.
Communicates recommendations in written reports and graphic presentations.
Produces graphic charts and diagrams for visual display of quantitative and qualitative information.
Illustrates organizational, operational and functional relationships that pose physical and spatial impacts.
Generates conceptual solutions that respond to client's spatial requirements, physical planning constraints and corresponding IT, HR and compliance requirements.
Evaluates alternative scenarios against criteria for success. Establishes project goals and objectives, including but not limited to, schedule and budget parameters.
Participate in industry conferences to maintain awareness of industry trends and bring leading-edge design to McKesson
Research and communicate industry metrics and how they impact practices
Provide post occupancy surveys to ascertain 'lessons learned
Mentors and coaches approximately 4 team members to further develop competencies.
Leads by example and model's behaviors that are consistent with the company's values.
Degree or equivalent experience. Typically requires 9+ years of professional experience and 1+ years of supervisory and/or management experience.
Professional Registration in Architecture preferred.
Certification in Corporate Real Estate, LEED or Facilities Management preferred.
Minimum of eight years of related experience and/or training.
Experience in Healthcare, Office and Industrial design preferred
AutoCAD drawing experience is preferred.
CAFM software experience is preferred.

Proficient with word processing, spreadsheet, desktop publishing and CAD/CAFM software including MS Office Suite (MS Project, PowerPoint, Excel & Visio).
Ideal candidate will be organized, detailed-oriented and self-starting individual driven to succeed.
Traditional office environment, with up to 50% +/- travel required to project sites.
Bachelor's degree in architecture or related field
