The Impact You'll Make in this Role
3M Medical Solutions Division is seeking a Quality Manager for the Medical Device Solutions platform which includes Medical Materials and Technologies, Auscultation, and the 3M Littmann(r) brand, and Immobilization products. The Platform Operations Team is responsible for developing and driving strategies, objectives, and goals to meet global quality and regulatory requirements.
This is a key leadership role on the Medical Device Solutions operations leadership team and reports to the 3M Medical Solutions Liquids & Actives, and Medical Device Solutions Global Quality Director. The ideal candidate will provide leadership to ensure product quality and efficient execution of the quality management system in compliance with internal and external requirements within the global health care markets served.
As the Quality Manager, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most creative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
Leading quality assurance, quality engineering, quality control, and quality systems for the operations platform. Owning and reporting on key quality metrics to the operations platform team and division leadership. Championing and driving continuous improvement and the resolution of quality issues, non-conformances, and corrective actions ensuring compliance, and working toward preventive actions.
Leading quality assurance in product design and development supporting the new product pipeline for the Medical Device Solutions Platform.
Working in a collaborative and agile manner with the operations leadership team to develop and drive strategies, objectives and goals to meet division and business requirements. Representing and championing quality and customer satisfaction within the platform.
Working with manufacturing plant teams to monitor and ensure compliance to the global HCBG Quality Management System.
Championing a culture of continuous improvement
Implementing global quality and regulatory strategies aligned to global regulations, 3M Health Care Business policies and business strategic plans, and ensure compliance to 3M procedures and applicable standards to maintain product compliance.
Developing solutions for high complex and multi-faceted problems, which require ingenuity, creativity, innovation, and strong analytical skills.
Networking effectively across all division/business stakeholders and plants to drive business priorities and capitalize on best practices.
Implementing corporate strategies related to Quality, Business Transformation, and Advance 3M.
Managing global responsibility for delivering the quality objectives for their business area or product responsibility and ensure personnel who report to them are competent to perform their job duties for medical device products.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher from (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
Seven (7) years combined quality assurance, quality engineering, quality control, quality systems manufacturing operations, new product introduction, compliance, regulatory, and/or laboratory within a private, public, government or military environment
Five (5) combined years' experience in a manufacturing, quality, laboratory and/or production environment
Two (2) combined years' experience leading teams, projects, and/or programs
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
Bachelor's degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline from an accredited institution
Experience in the Health Care Industry
Knowledge of Medical Device or Pharmaceutical Quality Systems
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and foster excellent collaboration and experience in cross-functional operations roles (manufacturing, Lean Six Sigma, laboratory, supply chain)
Ability to lead internal and external audit activities
Ability to communicate at all levels
Working knowledge of electronic systems utilization in a regulated environment
Strong risk management and critical thinking skills and experience with issue management and/or analysis of Medical Device Products
Understanding of cGMP's, USP, FDA Guidance's, ISO Standards, and ICH relevant to Medical Devices
Advanced Degree in Business, Engineering, Analytical or Chemistry-related field
Good organizational skills, attention to detail, compliance behaviors
Travel: May include up to 10% domestic/international
