We are seeking a Payroll Support Team Lead to join our team in Irving, TX.
The Payroll Support Center Team Lead will assist to coordinate and oversee daily activities performed by the Payroll Support Team (employee support through case management, email, mail, and phone). They serve as an escalation resource for HR Support inquiries. They will support the Team with questions for case resolution and effective customer service and accurate payroll processing and/or corrections. This position also provides technical and subject matter expertise in payroll processing functions. Additionally, this position assists and leads assigned projects. Able to complete assignments and tasks with limited supervision.
Mentors and provided guidance to the team for case/question resolution by using critical analytics and problem-solving skills and applying relevant laws, policies, and best practice to reach conclusions and resolutions.
Assist in resolving more complex and/or escalated payroll issues as needed.
Technical support for research and entries in processing systems (Workday, Kronos, Salesforce)
Assist in assessing work activities, root cause, and call volume to allocate resources and proactively address needs
Determine appropriate department, resource to route inquiries that cannot be resolved by the Payroll Support Center alone
Partners with Manager to ensure Payroll policies and procedures are updated on McKNet and other employee facing applications/systems.
Partner with HR Support Center to provide updated responses (KPA) to general routine inquiries and requests for first tier support.
Typically requires 5+ years of relevant experience
Minimum 2 years of experience in call center/support center role preferred
Minimum 3 years of payroll processing experience in a large/complex payroll environment
Leadership/Team Lead experience preferred
Experience in full cycle and multi-state payroll required
Working knowledge of Workday and ADP garnishments and money movement strong preferred
Kronos and Salesforce experience a plus

Guides assigned individuals and groups toward desired outcomes, setting high performance standards
Assesses work activities and allocates resources appropriately, as directed by the Manager
Ensuring assigned tasks are completed timely, and appropriate people are notified
Gathering and consolidating information that impacts measurable goals and targets, and assistance in leading the payroll team (internal and external) in meeting and/or exceeding outlined metrics.
Research ability to identify root cause and provide solutions.
Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, Workday, Kronos, Salesforce and others as required; ability to quickly learn new PC skills
Communicates clearly and effectively with staff, leadership, across internal/external teams and customers. Provide an approachable and open environment for questions, concerns and suggestions in all interactions.
Articulates knowledge and understanding of organizational policies, procedures and systems; including strong understanding of internal controls within a consolidated payroll processing environment.
Able to receive and provide feedback to encourage an open and honest environment.
High School diploma or GED required
Advanced education preferred, but not required
Preferred Certified Payroll Profession (FPC, CPP)
