The primary responsibilities of this role, Senior Manager Process and Packaging Development, are to: 

• Ensure the operative continuity of the Myerstown Product Supply Center by maintaining qualified / validated status of critical systems, equipment, processes and facilities in collaboration with Engineering, Manufacturing, Packaging and QA including a documentation system (process qualifications, protocols, summary reports) which complies with regulatory requirements and business group standards;
• Serve as a member of the Site Leadership Team responsible for functional and site strategy;
• Ensure and manage manufacturing transfer, product reformulation and implementation/scaling of new products with the agreed timing and cost from project management to final production handover providing direction to project teams assigned to introduce new products or technologies;
• Guarantee the design, development, test and implementation of new package designs / materials for product launches by ensuring the compatibility of package designs with existing packaging line equipment and technology in Myerstown or aligned to installation of that new technology;
• Manage all Pilot Plant development activities for Nutritional and OTC products/projects including scale-up experiments for I&D and support evaluation of experimental data;
• Assure appropriate maintenance of equipment and facility with work safety standards;
• Establish partner relationships and communication with category teams and I&D to foster collaboration, change management and alignment Foster OE mindset to deliver process and technology optimization;
• Investigate new/improved processes, carry out investigations, evaluate findings and apply findings as appropriate;
• Plan, organize and monitor the product and process troubleshooting, raw material evaluations and selections, and work with contract manufacturers in support of Manufacturing;
• Manage and develop personnel in Process Technology, Packaging Engineering and Project Management staff and implement programs for continued education in pharmaceutics, ingredients, equipment, processing, packaging, and food and drug regulations and patents; share results with Manufacturing, QA, Engineering, and other interested groups in Product Supply;
• Plan and organize validation projects, process improvements, I&D support for new product development, critical assessment of new manufacturing processes and new products, and troubleshooting of manufacturing problems;
• Balance the expectations of Marketing/I&D with Production and QA.
