This position is for a hands-on Cloud Principal Infrastructure Engineer that will lead the development of Infrastructure resources and services using Infrastructure as Code (IaC), the IaC platforms, cloud-based technologies and various scripting languages. These resources and services will provide strategic integrations between internal and external systems. This Principal engineer will design, develop, and deliver solutions and services to meet internal and external business needs. This engineer will demonstrate strong technical leadership through direct rapid prototyping and iterative development to deliver scalable, high-performance services into production. This engineer will be responsible for quickly assessing the scope and need from business inputs, establishing MVP (Minimal Viable Product) design, and finally hands-on coding and delivery of scalable solutions and services into production.
Assists leadership in the establishment, development and ongoing review of the Technical strategy and works to align the strategy with internal and external stakeholders through regular reviews. Updates leadership with changes to the IT landscape that can provide additional benefits to the organizations.
Provide technical leadership to the business acting as a consultant when and where needed to ensure accuracy and efficiency. Provide technical direction on one or more projects. Provide hands-on development of architectural and engineering artifacts. Provide technical leadership to peers and team to aide in the growth of all individuals.
Analyze business requirement specifications from customers & internal departments to create the necessary architectural artifacts needed to successfully build and implement next generation capabilities. Work with Service owners and/or take responsibility over roadmap development and on-going maintenance of the roadmap to ensure capabilities are maintained and kept in alignment with company and industry best practices
Implement and test solutions or services designs to the defined specifications ensuring they meet all requirements and are aligned to the needs of the business and the customer.
Partners closely with application development & support teams to support consistency in delivery including requirements collection for workloads and cloud-based enablement. (e.g roadmap development for data strategies.)
Partners closely with Security and ISRM to deliver highly secure solutions that meet enterprise compliance controls. Partners with multiple tech & business focused departments to drive cross functional initiatives related to proper onboarding of cloud and use cases, as well as migration strategies.
Minimum Job Qualifications:
Degree or equivalent experience
High level IT Certifications (e.g. MCSE, RHCE)
Business Experience -
15 years of relevant experience in IT infrastructure, cloud delivery, and architecture development.
5 years with active leadership & participation in cloud adoption & product migrations.
Experience interpreting non-functional requirements and SLAs to support services architecture.
Demonstratable experience in exerting influence & alignment with multiple business & technical teams. (e.g. product, dev, ops)
Specialized Knowledge/Skills -
Engineering and or Architecture certification on one or more of the following technologies
Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
Microsoft Windows Server
Understanding of security and or compliance frameworks (i.e. CCM, NIST 800-53, CIS)
Understanding of IT service frameworks such as ITIL
Strong understanding of governance frameworks (Cobit, Togaf, Zachmate)
General Office Environment/Remote
Travel - 20%
