Strong candidates will have at least a Bachelor’s degree, a background in biology and experience teaching. New York State teaching certification is a plus, but not required. Postdoctoral scientists who would like to pursue teaching careers are also encouraged to apply—especially those with experience in personal genomics, DNA barcoding, metabarcoding, or bioinformatics. The position demands a motivated self-starter who can work independently and as part of a team, with excellent writing, computer, and communication skills. Flexible scheduling will require some weekend work. Occasional travel between DNALC facilities may be required for training or instruction.
